Every girl for sure needs a guy for a best friend; for they can make your life much easier to deal with. Your relationship with your guy best friend has an inherent level of depth because it has nothing to do with physical attraction or appearance. He genuinely loves you because of your character. Every girl with guy friends realizes how important they are in her life. These men offer a crazy different perspective than the one we are accustomed to hearing from our female friends, and it’s a breath of fresh air.

I present this forward as a tribute to all the guys out there who are taken for granted and not thanked enough.

Different Perspective

Men and women are wired differently but that doesn't mean that your differences can or should hinder a friendship. The worst thing to do when your relationship is going wrong, is to ask another like-minded woman because although a girlfriend might take your side and agree with you, sometimes that’s not what we need. Having a guy best friend to confide your relationship problems with gives you a whole new understanding on a guy’s perspective and you’ll find that you begin to understand you partner more as well. And it isn't merely relationship issues we’re talking about, having to see the world through their eyes can be really fun at times, women tend to be more “mature” and uptight about everything while men see things in a less serious light

Protective

If anyone even dares to lay an eye on you or when shit gets real, you can always count on your guy best friend to back you up or to bail you out of the situation. They will protect you with their dear life in a crowd and will ensure that no one even dares to lay a finger on you! They’re just a natural deterrence and if some weird guy tries anything funny to you at a club, you know you can count on your guy bestie to stand up for you

Less Drama

Guys=less drama, don’t we all love to switch off at times. They help you to unwind to the land of ‘less drama’, but infinite gossip. We all know how tiresome it is to have to deal with friendship drama and it’s no secret that girls are full of drama. Whether we like it or not, drama – big or small, seem to find its way into our sisterly friendship from time to time. With a guy friend however, friendship is simple and drama is almost non-existent. Maybe it’s the simple fact that men are much less sensitive than women but whatever the reason, it definitely feels good not having to worry about treading on ice. Guys make friendship really simple and straightforward.

Dirty Talk

They won’t judge you for the insolent things your mouth around them. You don’t have to censor yourself around them.

They can stand your alcohol attitude

It’s easy to get drunk around a guy best friend, for they provide the reassurance of being there to protect you as well as letting you have fun without any lasting damage. You can get as drunk as you want because there is always someone to get you home. If (AND I MEAN NEVER) had your friend physically place you inside a taxi after a wild night, well, you haven’t really lived.

Good Listeners

I don’t know what it is about guys but they make really good listeners and when I say listen, I mean listen without feeling the need to give their input into your situation. Unlike us girls, we always have something to say and sometimes, we don’t really need solutions but a listening ear.

They can be your biggest Critic

Guy best friends can be your biggest critic, ensuring that you stay grounded without over confidence running in your veins. They also believe in calling a spade a spade, so if you look hideous in your expensive designer outfit, they will definitely let you know that.

They are honest

Guys believe in the policy of calling a spade a spade. Men feel no need to be jealous, inquisitive or insecure about people around them. Hence they only pay you the best of sincere compliments.

They can easily cheer you up

A guy best friend can bring a smile on your face even during the toughest of your times. No matter what phase or period you’re going through they will always know the right thing to say. They’re goofy; they’re caring, and they’re always entertaining. Every time you hang out with them, you learn something new. They just add that essential pop of color to your life.

They will offer you practical solutions

He will provide you practical solutions to all your problems. A guy’s thought won’t get clouded by your emotions, so look forward to suggestions that are actually workable. We always need that solution post venting with our girls don’t we?
